Avondale police are trying to determine the circumstances behind the crash of an SUV into a gun shop in the Phoenix suburb.
Police Sgt. Brandon Busse says whoever was driving the SUV left before police got to the scene and that an initial investigation hasn't produced any evidence of anything being taken in the early Monday morning incident.
Busse says officers responded to the location within a minute or so after getting a call from an alarm company, but it's not immediately known how promptly the alarm company called.
Several media outlets are reporting that the SUV was stolen, but Busse says he can't immediately confirm that.
The crash smashed left a gaping hole in the front of the store where debris covered the ground.
