Two shot, one adult at hospital
The 26-year-old mother of a 2-year-old that was found shot to death, is now being considered a 'person of interest' in her child's death from the shooting in Buckeye on Friday.
BUCKEYE, AZ - The Buckeye Police Department has arrested the mother of a two-year-old boy that was shot and killed on Friday.
Police responded to the home near Yuma and Watson roads around 4:30 p.m. Friday for reports of a shooting.
Police say 26-year-old Alyssa Pettibone was found with stab wounds, and a 2-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound. The 2-year-old did not survive his injuries.
Pettibone was taken to the hospital for her injuries, and was released from the hospital on Monday. Once released, she was immediately arrested by police.
Police have not released details about what led up to the shooting, but say Pettibone has been booked for second degree murder charges.
