TUCSON, Ariz. — An crowdfunding effort for a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border is reaching record highs, and still climbing.

By Thursday afternoon at around 2 p.m., a GoFundMe page titled "We The People Will Fund The Wall" passed $7 million from more than 114,000 donors, making it the fourth-biggest fundraising page on the site in all of 2018.

That's after just four days.

According to GoFundMe's year-end report, which was compiled before the border wall fundraiser, only three fundraisers still sit higher: the Stoneman Douglas Victims' Fund, a fund for the victims of a hockey team's tragic bus accident earlier this year and the Time's Up Legal Defense Fund.

In order to pass the Stoneman Douglas Fund, the border wall fundraiser would have to pass $10 million.

So far, the border wall fundraiser still sits well above funds for the March For Our Lives and even the Tree of Life Synagogue victims' fund. The fundraiser is still well-short of its ambitious $1 billion goal.

So far, the White House hasn't commented on the fundraising effort.
