TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The owners of One South Church, the largest building in Tucson, could make a big change to Tucson's skyline.
The blue and tan colored high-rise which is across from Veinte de Agosto park has been nameless for the past five years, but current building owners are offering naming rights to a new tenant who takes up a significant portion of its 80,000 square feet of vacant space.
"Naming rights, I think that's the one thing we can offer that no other building in Tucson can, at least not at the same level. It's a recognizable building, it's the tallest building," said Zach Fenton, managing partner with the group that purchased the building.
Fenton says it would be a great advertising opportunity for a business willing to relocate into Tucson's downtown. If the company name were displayed on all sides of the high-rise it would be visible to residents and visitors across town.
"It's in the background of a lot of things. I think over time once your name is up there it's going to start appearing on a lot of different things and you're going to get free advertising to some extent," Fenton said.
Fenton's group, 1SC (for One South Church), purchased the building for $32 million last year. This is the first time in its history that it has been locally owned. Fenton says One South Church is the only privately owned high-rise downtown.
