Tucson police are investigating a shooting that happened in the 1100 block of E. 32nd St Sunday.

According to Sgt. Kimberly Bay with TPD, officers were on the scene shortly after 1:30 a.m. and located two men with gunshot wounds.

Detectives have learned that a large group had been gathered for a wedding reception.

Around 1:30 a.m. guests were beginning to leave and as they began to walk to their vehicles, a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound almost struck one of them.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as 24-year-old Xavier Fragoso, stopped the vehicle and an argument ensued.

Fragoso then drove and responded to a residence down the street.

The group from the wedding reception followed and confronted Fragoso (who was armed with a handgun) and his group.

An altercation occurred between the groups, resulting in Fragoso being shot dead and another man getting injured.

Detectives are continuing to investigate. They are asking anyone with information to call 88-CRIME.
