A move to fire TUSD's superintendent hits a snag at Tuesday's board meeting. The board president, at the request of Rachael Sedgwick, put H.T. Sanchez's employment contract on the agenda.

Board members spent an hour in executive session with Sanchez and General Counsel Todd Jaeger. Those sessions are closed to the public so no details can be released.

Sanchez has come under intense scrutiny over controversial issues such as, teacher's pay, school discipline problems, possible budget overspending, the loss of magnet status for several schools, and his 24 percent salary hike.

The executive session ended with no action because of a legal issue. The board was set to vote during the public meeting, but that action item was pulled from the agenda after the executive session.

Vote on internal auditor: After a more than year-long search, the board unanimously voted to hire Demetrius C. Lee.
