RED ROCK, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - A 54-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly shooting her long-term domestic partner, according to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office.

Pinal County Sheriff's deputies say they found 53-year-old Kimberly Shelton dead on her front yard in Red Rock, just north of Tucson off Interstate 10, in the 34000 block of S. Spirit Lane.

Spokesman Mark Clark said calls about shots being fired at a house came in around 11 a.m. on Monday.

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu said in a press conference Monday, "Additional calls came in saying there was a female that had collapsed on the street in front of a residence and that's when neighbors had gone out and tried to rendered aid."

Shelton was transported to a Tucson hospital where she was declared dead.

Clark said deputies arrested the suspect without incident and that they believe the homicide was domestic violence related.

He said the women were domestic partners who lived together for 15 years and that police haven't been called to that house in the past.
