The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality is wrapping up its efforts to mitigate blowing dust along Interstate 10 by using gorilla snot.

The department says it will finish putting the snot on the farmland that is blamed for causing dust storms.

Once the department's efforts are finished, the landowner will continue applying the gorilla snot until the field is covered.

The dust has closed the freeway several times in the past few weeks.

Scottsdale-based Soilworks was selected by ADEQ to supply dust control products to contain the blowing dust problem near San Simon, according to a press release.

Gorilla snot is an eco-safe, biodegradable, liquid copolymer that is used for dust suppression and erosion control according to the press release.
