Highs plummet, then soar

Posted

As the clouds and light showers clear to the northeast, much cooler temps will push through southern Arizona today through early Thursday.

Highs will only warm to the low 70s in Tucson, about 15 degrees below average. Some cold eastern valleys could see freezing or near-freezing temps by Thursday morning. Thursday afternoon will remain 5 to 10 degrees below the norm.

The cooler temps will quickly give way to a big warm up over the weekend. Highs will soar to near 90 by Friday, and our 1st 100 degrees of the season by Sunday.
