The New Year is the perfect time to reflect and pledge to savor those real moments that warm our hearts and really matter. As a mom and chef, Claudette shares tips and suggestions on easy ways to help nourish our families and create memorable moments. Milk is a part of our traditions and is not only delicious but nutritious. In fact, milk has nutrition that’s hard to find in other single foods and beverages. It’s the top food source of three of the nutrients most likely to be lacking in kids’ diets – calcium, vitamin D and potassium.

MORE ABOUT CLAUDETTE ZEPEDA:
Claudette Zepeda was born in the U.S. and raised between Tijuana, San Diego, and Guadalajara. She is the Executive Chef and Partner of El Jardín (The Garden) and Mom of two teenagers, a boy (15) and a girl (13). Claudette’s Aunt Lorenza, who was also a restaurant owner, paved the way for Claudette’s career as a chef. Claudette was a contestant on Top Chef in both Mexico and the U.S. She was Chef de Cuisine at Bracero, where Chef Javier Plascencia taught her to cook with instinct and heart. She then worked in pastry at El Bizcocho. On a trip to Marrakech, she realized how similar Moroccan and Mexican foods were. Everything reminded her of her childhood, her aunt and grandmother. From then on, she had a strong desire to go back to her roots Since then she’s focused on homey, soulful and creative Mexican food with her current passion project El Jardín while traveling often to Mexico for new inspiration.
