Mystery in Wales: Hundreds of dead birds fall from the sky

TUCSON, Ariz. — Over the years, from Arkansas to Australia, thousands of birds have been mysteriously falling from the sky to their death.

The latest rainfall of deceased birds has been spotted on the island of Wales, and authorities are trying to get to the bottom of the rather gruesome discovery.

The following video was provided by Dafydd Edwards, and it shows the flock laying motionless on the side of the road.

One of the stranger things about the deathly scene is that none of the birds are in the nearby fields.

In an attempt to determine how they died, North Wales Police's Rural Crime Team eventually closed the road while officers from the Animal and Plant Health Agency collected the feathered carcasses to send them off for toxicology tests.

It appears to be happening all over the world, too — Canada, Beebe, Arkansas, and Australia — and it's not specific to the kind of bird either.

Many believe that the birds have been poisoned, hit by an airplane, or were flying under the influence of some berries.

Perhaps the reason is something more profound. As of now the case remains unsolved.
