Feeling a sense of isolation and loneliness is a growing epidemic and no group feels this more than seniors. But often illness, mobility and the complexity of communication can make it difficult to connect meaningfully. In a world of everchanging technology, we have the tools to communicate almost anywhere, at any time. But those tools can cut both ways, especially when one generation hasn’t adopted these tools.

Larry and his late wife Pat kept their relationship alive through letters while he was in the Navy and away at sea for nearly a year. Today, Larry uses social media to connect with his granddaughter, and share his most precious memories about Pat.

To highlight the importance of technology in keeping families connected, Cox communications is launching their ‘Grandstories’ campaign, featuring short videos that document three grandparent/grandkid couples. The initiative brings grandparents closer to their grandkids by teaching them how to make stronger connections with the people who matter most using social media.
