TUCSON, Ariz. — An indoor playground is coming to Tucson this fall.

Jenni Gardner, the owner of Wild Katz Children's Adventure Playground, spent the last year going over business plans and design models after she went to an indoor playground in Phoenix.

"I was just sitting there looking around and I was like, 'How do we not have one of these in Tucson." And so I came home and wrote up a business plan and kind of obsessed about it," said Gardner.

Gardner said as a mom, she craved to visit businesses like Wild Katz, and that Tucson is the perfect market for this type of business.

"The lack of indoor places. We do have some that have opened up that I've taken my kids to, they're great. But, we didn't have this exact footprint," said Gardner.

Wild Katz will have obstacle courses, dodge ball, party rooms, an old-fashioned soda fountain, and a big playground area. Designed for children ages six-months to early teens, Gardner said she wanted a place where a variety of ages can be entertained. The indoor playground will have areas designated for different age groups. Being a mom of four, Gardner related to the struggle of entertaining her own kids all at one place.

"My big thing is, when I had my like, six, four, and two-year-olds I had nothing to do with my six-month-old. So I wanted a place that you could also put your baby and not have to worry about the other kids trampling over them," said Gardner.

Wild Katz is located in the Mission Plaza at North Swan Road. The opening day will be set in early November.
