TUCSON, Ariz. — Fresh off graduation and entering a job market affected by a global pandemic, KGUN9 wondered: what resources are available for recent UArizona grads?

If you just graduated from college it's harder to hold on to an internship or even a full-time job.

20% of internships and 4% of job offers have been revoked, numbers not seen since the 2008 recession, according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers.

The UArizona Alumni Association says it wants to give recent grads some peace of mind: you can't control the market but you can control your own marketability.

"Resume development, cover letter review, mock interview support, career coaching," resources, Association President, Melinda Burke, said every graduate has at their convenience.

"Webinars and multiple articles and a variety of information that we think will be very helpful to our young alums and our recent alumni."

If you just graduated Burke said you can join the 'Bear Down Network.'

"The purpose of that network is to create a helping community of Wildcats helping Wildcats," Burke said.

"On the 'Bear Down Network' you can find alumni from literally around the world, who may be involved or employed in either companies or roles that you might, yourself, want to learn more about."

While prospects in the market aren't great, Burke saiD now's a great time to be an involved alumnus looking to connect in online events.

"We've seen our engagement numbers go sky-high. All of a sudden there are no barriers to attending an alumni event or university event. You can attend in your pajamas from the comfort of your home."
