TUCSON, Ariz. — Truck drivers have worked tirelessly to make sure food, medical supplies and other essential items get to where they need to be.

As a way to say thanks for all the hard work, volunteers in Tucson raised money to pack and hand out free lunches to those truckers.

They set up at the Triple T truck stop Thursday and gave out sack lunches and drinks to hundreds of drivers passing through.

"We really wanted to do something to help the people that are helping us get through this crisis, and we felt that the truckers were the unsung heroes," Kent Bauman, who organized the effort, said.

Bauman says the donations will continue every weekday until funds run out.
