Fire crews first received reports around 7 p.m. Saturday after the man ended up about 400 feet below a trail on the mountain's south side.

According to officials, the man fell about 100 feet and became stuck on the side of a cliff. Forty firefighters, a helicopter and seven hours later, the man was brought safely to the ground.

The man didn't suffer serious injuries during the incident and is expected to be OK.

During their rescue efforts, firefighters discovered an adult female who was experiencing emotional distress, a fire spokesperson said. The woman was walked down the mountain and hospitalized for evaluation.
