With help from Arizona Department of Transportation volunteers, Department of Public Safety troopers were able to rescue a family of ducklings trapped in a storm drain Monday evening.
Dubbed by ADOT as "Operation Duck Salvation," the family was eventually reunited and released into a nearby canal.
Tonight, around 6 p.m., troopers responded to a call of a duck and ducklings in a storm drain on eastbound SR-202 RM near Greenfield. DUCK TALE FINALE
A walk to freedom followed the rescuing of the fowl as rescuers carried crates of ducklings, the duck parents waddling after them. The babies were released into the canal.
