Voters decide three City Council seats

TUCSON, Ariz. — TUCSON, Ariz. - Tucson voters chose winners in the three races for a City Council seats Tuesday.

Seats from Wards 1, 2 and 4 were up for election. Check this map to see the borders of each ward.

In Ward 1, Democrat Lane Santa Cruz defeated Republican Sam Nagy and Matthew Smith who represented the Green Party. Incumbent Regina Romero left her seat to run for mayor.

In Ward 2, Democrat incumbent Paul Cunningham garnered more votes than Ewart Williams and Green Party candidate William Petersen.

Ward 4 saw Democrat Nikki Lee defeated Republican Michael Hicks and the Green Party's Cara Bissell. Incumbent Shirley Scott is retiring at the end of her term.

The Tucson City Council has seven members.
