After a primary race that's garnered national attention, McSally inched out opponents for the Republican nomination for Sen. Jeff Flake's seat in the U.S. Senate Tuesday night. She'll face off against Kyrsten Sinema, who cruised to the Democratic nomination earlier in the night.

After Flake announced in October 2017 that he would not seek re-election, a storm of political activity began in Arizona Republican circles to fill Flake's seat in the historically conservative state. In all, three candidates ran a tough campaign for the seat.

The general election is on Nov. 6.
