RX protein bars recalled due to peanut allergen

RXBAR has announced a voluntary recall after discovering several of their protien bars contain an undeclared peanut allergen.

According to the FDA website, the recall has been expanded due to "receiving consumer contacts regarding allergic reactions to additional varieties."

Currently, the voluntary recall includes:

• RXBAR: Apple Cinnamon, Blueberry, Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Hazelnut, Chocolate Sea Salt, Coconut Chocolate, Coffee Chocolate, Mango Pineapple, Maple Sea Salt, Mint Chocolate, Mixed Berry, Pumpkin Spice
• RXBAR Kids: Apple Cinnamon Raisin, Berry Blast, Chocolate Chip

In December of last year, the Chocolate Sea Salt and Coconut Chocolate were recalled.

The FDA notes that, at this time, "no other RXBAR flavors or RXBAR products are affected by the recall."

If you have consumed the RXBAR and have a peanut allergen, seek medical attention (if needed), discard the product and contact your local retailer.
