The President has signed a bill into law that should cut down on the amount of unwanted robocalls that Americans receive.
The new law gives law enforcement better ability to go after robo-callers, allows phone companies to block scam callers without asking for a customer's permission and requires companies to block robo-callers at no charge to the customer.
The new law also requires phone companies to put a system in place that will let customers know if a number claiming to be a government agency or claiming to be from the customer's home town is authentic.
FCC officials say that while they expect these new measures will drastically cut down on robo-calls, they won't completely eliminate them.
