DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — As Floridians prepare for Hurricane Dorian, a Publix cake decorator decided she wanted to bring smiles to shoppers' faces during the stressful time with the help of hurricane-themed cakes.

"I was with a coworker and said 'I’m going to put a hurricane on a cake!' " Jessica Gouin, a Publix cake decorator in Neptune Beach, Florida, told WFTS. "They took off after I put them in our display case. I haven’t stopped making them yet."

The National Hurricane Center announced Thursday morning that Hurricane Dorian could make landfall in Florida as a Category 4 storm.

Gouin said she understands how serious Florida residents should be taking Hurricane Dorian, and that she's just glad everyone has enjoyed her cakes as much as she's enjoyed making them.

"It makes my heart happy bringing people joy or a smile during these stressful times," Gouin said.

The Hurricane Dorian buttercream and coolie cakes have been sold for $10.99 and the fudge cakes for $11.99. It's important to note that these cakes are not being sold at all locations.
