TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Tucson Police department has made an arrest in the deadly motorcycle accident that happened last night. 36-year-old Rene Abeyta has been charged with Manslaughter and two counts of Aggravated Assault.
Police say Abeyta was driving a motorcycle with 36-year-old Ana Lisa Ordonez near Valencia and Santa Clara. Abeyta was allegedly impaired when he rear-ended a truck causing it to roll over. Abeyta and Ordonez were thrown from the motorcycle and were not wearing helmets.
Abeyta and the driver of the truck were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Ordonez was pronounced dead on scene.
Abeyta has been booked into the Pima County Jail.
