Google's most searched topic and candidate during the first Presidential Debate

Google analyzed search results on the debate minute-by-minute to look into what America was most interested in during the debate.

 
Starting with the issues, the most searched policies for each candidate are: immigration, abortion, and guns.
 
Google also kept track of which candidates were being searched during the debate, and leading up to the debate and for the first half hour, the candidates are pretty evenly matched. 
 
Google also looked at which issues voters searched most during the debate. Voter registration and policing remain at the top for the majority of the night, but race issues and ISIS are also top concerns.
 
Since the debate, Google continues to track search interest in the presidential candidates in real time.
 
Also, searches for the phrase "register to vote" in Spanish hit an all-time high during during the debate, spiking to more than 100,000 searches.
