Volunteers go door-to-door encouraging students to return to school

Posted

Tucson Unified School District employees, community members, volunteers and Mayor Rothschild hit the streets of Tucson Wednesday afternoon to encourage students that have dropped out to return to school.

This is the 5th "Steps to Success" walk since 2014.

Volunteers visited nearly 200 homes.

Since the walks began more than 300 students have returned to school and 64 have graduated.

The teams of volunteers will follow up with phone calls and home visits in the next few days.
