TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Another tuition hike proposed by the University of Arizona, but only for about 20% of the student population.

The tuition setting process for Arizona's Universities begins this month.  There will be no increase for nearly 80% of the undergraduate students who are locked into the guaranteed tuition program for four years.

New in-state students will see a hike of about 33%, nearly $370.

New out-of-state students will pay about 7% more for tuition, about $23.

"The fee increases and the tuition increases we propose are really just trying to balance keeping the cost of students as reasonable as possible and yet recognizing year to year naturally increasing costs," said Andrew Comrie with the UA Provost.

A public hearing to discuss the tuition proposal will be held on March 29th at the Gallager Theater on UA campus.
