TUCSON, Ariz. - A group of University of Arizona students held a demonstration on the UA mall Monday to raise awareness surrounding mental health and suicide.
Active Minds and campus health laid out 1,100 red t-shirts on the grass to symbolize each student who took their own lives in the last year.
The number of students who commit suicide is only growing each year.
Student organizers said they want to dispel the stigma surrounding mental health among young people.
Campus health offers counseling services for students who are struggling, as well as emergency assistance for those in immediate need.
