The University of Arizona has proposed an increase in tuition by 1 percent for residents and non-residents for the 2017-2018 academic year.
With this increase, Arizona students can expect existing fees to rise in the following areas: Health and Recreation will be an additional $125, Information/Technology will be an extra $55 and the student services fee will increase by $70.
The university has proposed a new mandatory fee as well. In order to help support facilities and ongoing operations, which include athletics, undergraduates will be required to pay $100.
According to the Arizona Board of Regents, there will be a public hearing where students will be able to comment and provide feedback regarding this proposal. The hearing will take place from 5-7p.m. on March 28.
