One dead, two injured in shooting near East 29th Street

Tucson Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday night at an apartment complex located at 5171 East 29th Street.

According to Sgt. Pete Dugan, officers located a man with gunshot trauma. After rendering first aid, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police identified him as 37-year-old Christopher Gentry.

A second man was located with gunshot wounds at a neighboring apartment complex west of the incident location. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Dugan says at the same time, additional callers reported a man with gunshot wounds an apartment complex to the east of the incident location. That man was also transported to the hospital with serious injuries. 

Detectives were able to determine that several people were involved in an altercation inside the complex located at 5171 E. 29th Street. During the altercation, gunfire was exchanged and the three people were shot.

Dugan says this was not a random act of violence.

No one has been charged in the shooting at this time.
