Animals test positive for rabies in Sierra Vista

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - The Cochise County Sheriff's Office has been working with the USDA Wildlife Services regarding a wildlife issues within the county.
 
The issue pertains to animals identified as being positive for the rabies virus.
 
Two positive rabies cases in skunks in the Sierra Vista area.
 
With the colder weather, more animals are traveling to locations where they can get food and water.
 
CCSO reminds the public to not leave pet food outside during the evening/night time hours and limit water sources during those same time periods.
 
They also would like to remind the public to give their pets a chance by having the rabies vaccination.
