TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Tucson are investigating a crash last month that involved a pedestrian who has since died.

They say 49-year-old Daniel Benavidez was injured on the night of March 26 as he was walking in a marked and painted crosswalk.

Benavidez was taken to a Tucson hospital with life-threatening injuries and died last Wednesday.

Police say the driver involved in the crash remained at the scene.

They say the driver wasn't impaired at the time of the collision and speed wasn't a factor.

No arrests have been made in the case and no citations issued.

But police say they still are actively investigating the crash.
