TUCSON, Ariz - The Tucson Pima Collaboration to End Homelessness is gearing up for the annual homeless count but they are still in need of volunteers.

The annual count will be taking place on Jan 23 this year. It typically takes place within the last 10 days of January because it's the time of year when shelters are full due to the cold weather.

The collaboration does the count every year in order to comply with funding requirements from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Those who volunteer with the homeless count are tasked with going to different spots around town to talk to those who are experiencing unsheltered homelessness.

If you'd like to volunteer you can find more information on how to do so here.
