Per a press release from TFD, the crew arrived to a home near Grant Road and Swan Road after they recieved a call about smoke coming from the backside of a multi-unit home.
Firefighters entered the home to discover no flames, but evaluated the mother and son for smoke inhalation, and rescued multiple pets alive, including: a dog, a ferret, and three cats.
The resident and her son requested Red Cross care since they could no longer stay at their home.
At this time, the origin, cause and damages are still to be determined by TFD.
TFD would like to remind citizens that fires spread rapidly and that a person typically has up to two minutes to escape once a fire alarm sounds. TFD would also like to remind people that having a reviewed escape plan with family is best for avoiding future harm.
