Sixteen years. That is how long a Lockheed l-10-11 Tristar has been parked at Tucson International Airport.
On Friday, it took to the skies.
The place has been at TIA since it ended its career in flying medical care into remote areas.
After lots of restoration and donations, it has been renamed the Tristar Experience.
The plane is now headed to Kansas City where it will become a Science Center designed to inspire young students to pursue careers in engineering, science, and math.
