TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A road on Tucson's east side flooded Thursday after a vehicle hit a fire hydrant while fleeing from police at 5th Street and Alamo.

Tucson Police were trying to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation. The car drove away, hit the fire hydrant and two people ran from the car. According to Officer Dan Lucas one suspect is in custody and the other has not been located.

The search for the other suspect has been called off.

Alamo from 5th to Speedway was flooded as Tucson Water crews said they could not get to the switch to turn off the water because the vehicle was blocking it.

Service was disrupted for customers in the area once crews were able to shut off the water. They removed the fire hydrant and repaired the break, and service has been restored.
