Sun Tran bus fares could be going up for the first time in five years.
Tucson City Council is meeting about the bus fare issue tomorrow night.
The last times fares were raised was in 2011, when one-way fares went up 25 cents to $1.50 and express fares from $1.50 to $2.
The City Manager is recommending an increase of 10 cents to the base fare by 2018.
The economy fare is currently 50 cents that would go up 10 cents next year, and another 15 by 2018.
The city is raising fares because the $44 million put into transit last year isn't enough for the cost of the transit system.
