The City of Tucson has extended the time for the public to provide comments on the proposed Sun Tran fare increase.
The base fare is $1.50. The proposal would boost it to $1.60 next year and $1.70 the year after that.
The company says it has been five years since the last fare hike and it needed to keep the system strong.
Sun Tran has begun a series of public hearings to brief people on the plan and have extended the hearings until June 26.
