Storms snap more than 30 trees on southside property

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A man is cleaning up after two intense storms mangled his yard. Leon Gomez says he's lived on the south end of Swan Road for two decades, but has never seen storms like that ones that hit his property Tuesday night. Gomez says he lost more than 40 trees, but says it could have been a lot worse.

"If the trees weren't trimmed they probably would have tipped over completely, uprooted the trees," Gomez added.

Although Gomez has a lot of cleaning up to do, he's very optimistic. Gomez says he's glad the most important things in his life weren't destroyed.

"I'm happy that my house is okay, my two houses are okay. I'm happy I'm okay. The trees, can grow back," said Gomez.
