Senator John McCain made a stop in Tucson Thursday to hold a town hall meeting with Comcast employees.
Throughout McCain's campaign, he has emphasized the need to help veterans.
He said nearly 8,000 veterans commit suicide a year.
"As we speak today, 22 veterans will commit suicide. That's unacceptable obviously. A lot of it has to do with PTSD, a lot of it has to do with other issues," McCain said at the town hall. "And frankly, two of the common denominators we have found are joblessness and homelessness."
Comcast is one of many companies assisting veterans through the Hiring Our Heroes initiative.
Last year Comcast announced its commitment in hiring 10,000 members of the Army Reserve military veterans and their spouses by 2017.
