The Town of Sahuarita installed blue lights, aka "tattletale lights" on the back of traffic signals at six intersections along Sahuarita Road and La Villita to make it easier for officers to catch drivers going through red lights.
When a traffic signal turns red, the blue light will illuminate.
This will help police officers have a better idea when a traffic signal turns red.
Pima Association of Governments Road Safety Study recommended the blue lights as a test to improve intersection safety.
PAG funded the project.
At a future Town Council meeting, the council will approve when the testing phase begins.
