The decision of who will fill the late Senator John McCain's seat falls with Governor Doug Ducey.
Arizona law requires him to name a replacement from the Republican party because that was the party McCain was a part of.
The replacement announcement will not be released until sometime after the burial of John McCain, which will take place on Sunday.
Whoever is appointed will hold that spot until the next general election in 2020.
