Police have arrested a man in connection with thekidnapping of 18-year-old Kattalena Navarro-Hernandez that happened Wednesday night.
23-year-old Nathan Peru was arrested on charges of domestic violence/kidnapping, aggravated assault, and escape in the 2nd degree
Police say three men forced their way inside the home of Navarro-Hernandez at about 11 p.m. on Wednesday. They assaulted a man who was inside the apartment near 29th and Swan and forced her to go with them.
Navarro-Hernandez was found safe by officers in the 3800 block of North Romero Road Thursday morning.
Authorities found the woman inside a residence with several other males. After a short period of negotiations, everyone came outside and surrendered to officers peacefully.
Following his arrest, Peru attempted to escape from police custody but was quickly apprehended after a failed attempt at jumping through a window.
Detectives have learned that Peru and Navarro-Hernandez had been in a romantic relationship at some point in the past.
The investigation is ongoing.
