Environmental officials in Pima County are issuing an air quality watch as strong winds in the area are beginning to stir up dust.
The Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PDEQ) says that while standards from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) haven't been exceeded so far, an afternoon increase in wind and dust is expected in southern Arizona.
The PDEQ is advising those with sensitivities to particulate matter in the air to stay inside with windows and doors closed until the wind and dust settle.
The warning comes amid strong winds and a steep drop in temperatures early Tuesday morning, with a hard freeze issued for higher elevation areas of the Tucson metro.
