CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (AP) - The pilot of a small plane that crashed at the Casa Grande municipal airport walked a quarter-mile to get help from the crew of a medical helicopter stationed at the airport.
The Casa Grande Dispatch reports that the man suffered facial injuries in the crash Tuesday evening and was flown by the helicopter to a Phoenix hospital after its crew began treating him as firefighters and police officers arrived.
The plane leaked some fuel but there was no fire.
A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for additional information.
