If you love taking pictures, professionally or in your spare time, you might want to consider entering the ADOT-produced magazine's contest.

For the past 93 years, professional photographers have been featured in the Arizona Highways magazine, produced by ADOT. The pictures range from landscapes, to wildlife and more. They have helped win the magazine international acclaim.

And now, the annual photography contest is open to amateur and professional photographers. The deadline to submit is December 15th, 2018.

Submissions will be judged in three different categories:

  • Landscape Photography
  • Macro (close-up) photography
  • Wildlife photography

Keep in mind, all submission must show Arizona.

The magazine photo editor, Jeff Kida, says, "The photo contest is a wonderful way for photographers to celebrate Arizona. From the macro submissions to the sweeping landscape images we receive, it's clear that these shooters have a passion for exploring our beautiful state."

Kida will be judging the entries base on a number of factors:

  • Composition
  • Framing
  • Light
  • Overall "wow"

Photographers who submit the three best photos will win prizes.

  1. First Place: an in-state photo workshop valued at $2,500
  2. Second Place: prize package from Tempe Camera valued at $500
  3. Third Place: prize package from Tempe Camera valued at $250
