CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (AP) - A pedestrian was killed in an early morning collision with a train near Casa Grande.
Pinal County Sheriff's deputies were called by Casa Grande police around 1 a.m. Saturday about a fatal incident involving a pedestrian and a train.
According to investigators, a train was traveling on Jimmie Kerr Boulevard when the incident occurred near Peart Road in an unincorporated area of Casa Grande.
Officers located a wallet and other evidence indicated the victim had been hit by the train.
Authorities say they found the victim's remains.
Due to the condition of the remains, officials expect determining an identity will take some time.
The accident remains under investigation.
