Deputies from the Pima County Sheriff's Department are warning the public of a new phone scam involving personal health insurance information.
Officials from the Arizona Department of Health Services say that someone disguising themselves to be with a health insurance company is calling residents and asking them for their personal health insurance info.
AZDHS says the name and phone number on the caller ID make it appear as the call is coming from the department.
Officials say AZDHS does not contact residents with requests for personal information.
Deputies advise that if you receive a call, do not give the caller any information and hang up immediately.
AZDHS is asking anyone who thinks they were a victim of this scam to call the Arizona Attorney General's Office at 602-542-5763 or head to their website.
