PHOENIX (AP) - The parents of the 9-year-old girl who was killed in a 2011 shooting in Tucson have been invited to the White House for what is expected to be the announcement of President Barack Obama's executive actions tightening gun laws.
On Jan. 8, 2011, Christina-Taylor Green was the only child among the six killed in a shooting in a grocery-store parking lot. Thirteen other people, including then-U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, were injured.
The Arizona Republic reports that John and Roxanna Green say they do not know the details of the announcement Obama is expected to make on Tuesday.
Obama is expected to sign off on a package of proposals aimed at curbing gun violence and cracking down on unregulated gun sales.
