TUCSON, Ariz. - Out-of-state registered nurses who are a part of the California Nurses Foundation and National Nurses United are continuing to come to Tucson to help care for migrants at the Benedictine Monastery.

The registered nurses recently completed their third visit to the shelter where they help migrants of all ages by providing a variety of treatments.

"There's been a variety of treatments, there's been a lot of cough and cold there's some live, abrasions, fungus's, a lot of medical treatments that we deal with and a lot of anxiety and stress as well," said Sandy Reding, a registered nurse.

Along with providing medical care the nurses also help throughout the monastery with whatever is needed, sometimes even helping in the kitchen.

"We are just kind of jack of all trades. We utilize our medical skills so that we can best help the migrants and we want to make sure that we give them the care that they deserve and they need with compassion," Reding said.

The nurses plan on continuing to come to Tucson to the Benedictine Monastery every weekend until further notice.
