ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) - The town of Oro Valley just north of Tucson found its new interim manager at its local police department.

Oro Valley Police Chief Daniel Sharp will replace outgoing town manager Greg Caton, who is leaving on June 2 to serve as city manager in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Caton became assistant town manager in November 2010 and was promoted less than a year later.

Sharp has been the town's police chief for 16 years after having spent 21 years at the Tucson Police Department.

Oro Valley will soon start a recruitment effort for a permanent town manager that officials say could last months.
